    • It’s difficult to answer this in one word, there are so many loopholes within the section 118 under Rule 38 A (3) of Himachal Pradesh Tenancy & Land Reforms Rules 1975. Though you cannot buy any agricultural land, but you can buy flats/apartments that are already built.
  • What is Article 118 in Himachal?
    • Section 118 of the H.P. Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1972 provides for restriction on transfer of land in favour of a person who is not an agriculturist of the State. This Section and rules thereunder have been amended from time to time to further the basic intention behind its enactment of protecting the interests of local inhabitants while ensuring that the development of the State is not hampered. A number of instructions and clarifications have been issued to assist in decisions by the field staff on the various queries which arise in relation to interpretation of various definitions and provisions. This compendium attempts to bring together all the relevant provisions, Rules, instructions and clarifications in order to be of assistance to both officials and the general public
